BATTCYCLE is proud to have partnered with Bella's Footprints in support of International Button Battery Awareness Day 2026 across Australia.
As part of our mission to eliminate the dangers associated with button batteries, we joined families, educators, healthcare professionals, community organisations and safety advocates in raising awareness of the devastating consequences that can occur when button batteries are swallowed or improperly discarded.
Every year, increasing numbers of children are admitted to hospital following button battery incidents. In many cases, these seemingly small batteries can cause catastrophic internal injuries within hours, resulting in emergency surgery, lifelong complications, and tragically, the loss of young lives.
Through education, awareness and safer battery storage solutions, BATTCYCLE is committed to helping prevent these incidents before they occur. Together with Bella's Footprints and our many supporters, we are working towards a future where every home, school, childcare centre and workplace is Button Battery Safe.
We sincerely thank everyone who participated in, promoted and supported International Button Battery Awareness Day 2026. The photographs and videos below capture some of the incredible awareness activities, media coverage and community engagement that helped spread this life-saving message across Australia.
Together, we can save lives, prevent serious injuries and protect future generations from the dangers of button batteries.

Supporting International Button Battery Awareness Day | 12 June 2026.
In proud partnership with Bella's Footprints
Globally hundreds of thousands of children have suffered serious or lifelong injuries and death after swallowing or inserting a Button Battery.
In Australia alone, over 1000 children require emergency treatment each year and the incidences are alarmingly increasing. Some children have sadly died.
We are determined to eliminate the danger of Button Batteries and invite you to help raise awareness for International Button Battery Awareness Day which will be held on Friday 12th of June 2026.
The aim of this initiative is to maximize awareness about the dangers of Button Batteries among schools, parents, caregivers and childhood educators through the delivery of an educational program designed for early childhood and primary school aged children. In fact, anywhere that young children are present.
Through the promotion of International Button Battery Awareness Day, it is our hope that together we can ensure that anywhere that young children are present is Button Battery safe.
